Just close to concluding a very interesting case where a client has needed to redeem a finance lease taken out in the mid 90?s with British Linen. This used to be a ‘merchant bank’ (back in the old days when they existed) but has since been taken over by BoS, HBoS, etc. The structure of the finance deal is very complex indeed and it was impossible to understand the redemption figure that the client was being quoted. In this case this has been solved with a good presentation to the bank making a case for a lower redemption figure. I would be interested in hearing about any other recent ‘British Linen’ experiences businesses may have had.
